before the sun rose is a collaborative online project realized in the spring of 2020, combining both photography and short journal entries.
“This project is a record of the first year of my boyfriend and I’s relationship. We took turns writing the journal entries and taking the photos, which turned out to be an interesting way to see each other’s perspectives of our relationship. We did not set any rules or guidelines for this project, but we found ourselves naturally gravitating towards recording how we evolved as individuals as we spent more and more time together.”
“Recently I feel like something has started to change. Most people still can’t tell. Even you can’t tell if I don’t mention it to you. But I feel that something new has started to grow within me.”
