nanaimay

1998年ブラジル生まれ、ブラジルとアメリカ育ち。2020年、アイデア雑誌でインターンシップに参加する。2021年、フリーランスのデザイナー、イラストレーターとして活動を始める。2022年、テンプル大学ジャパンキャンパスアート学科を卒業。現在、メトポリス雑誌でデザインや広告などを手がける。

主な仕事内容は、シルクスクリーンやモノタイププリント、イラストレーション、写真、エディトリアル、zine、アートブックなどのアートディレクションとデザイン。

Originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, nanaimay is a graphic designer, illustrator, and writer living and working in Tokyo. In 2022, she graduated from Temple University Japan Campus with a Bachelor of Arts.

She has worked and interned for Japan’s biggest English-published magazines, Metropolis and Tokyo Weekender as well as Japan’s oldest design and typography periodical still in publication, IDEA.

She is currently the head designer for the online Japanese stationery store bungu.

An avid collector of zines, she has also self-published a few titles of her own. When she is not immersed in one of her art projects, you can find her in a bouldering gym or enjoying Japanese tea at a cafe.

exhibitions

First Roll Group Exhibition February 15–19, 2023

A group photography exhibition at Gallery Filmo that explored the theme of first impressions and feelings from your first film roll. Exhibited the work A Tree’s Longing (2023) in collaboration with fellow artist Chanin Wetchayanwiwat.

Fragments Exhibition April 19–22, 2021

Exhibited a sound-based installation work, Full House (2021), alongside the work of seven other Temple University Japan Campus art students. Designed the exhibition’s zine.

TUJ-SWU Joint Student Exhibition November 5–29, 2019

Invited to participate in a joint student exhibition with a select group of art students from Temple University Japan Campus and Showa Women’s University. Exhibited two personal projects, a children’s book titled Curtains (2018), and a triptych photo series, titled Belonging (2019).
